I JUST WANT MY SON
So many
opinions, so many to-do’s
So many are
hurt, angry and confused
It got me to
ask God for His
“Lord what
about what you think?”
“I JUST WANT
MY SON,” says the Lord
2015 broke off with a blow to a lot of those around me in
this season. Everyone responded or is
responding differently saying and doing different things to justify their
emotion or opinion ……………. which I completely understand.
In the midst of
all these different reactions, I crept in to that little spot in my heart to
inquire of HIS opinion or HIS mind or idea in all this mess.
Everyone
knows the story of the prodigal son. My
highlight from this story, is something I learnt not too long ago in a Bible study. That moment when the Father reaches the Son
and the Son says, “I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no
longer worthy to be called your son.” The very next verse goes like, “ But the father said to his bond servants, Bring
quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give
him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet…”
Notice, The Father turned the other way after the son spoke, indirectly
saying, I don’t want to hear that; I don’t care about what you did or how you
did it; I don’t want your self-pity…….
I JUST WANT MY SON.
I JUST WANT MY SON, He says.
With this revelation, He gives an illustration of a 2-year
old and his parents. The parents can have differences and arguments strong enough
to call for a divorce, but because of their dear son, divorce is not an option. [My sincere apologies to those of whom this is not true.] If the parents have differences in their hearts, the child can make them forget.
A 2 year old will always see the parents as one. Even if the unfortunate
circumstance of divorce occurs, their son will always remind them of that bond
they have yet choose to ignore.
The SON has the power to keep the family together.
The SON has the power to remind us of [our] initial purpose.
The SON has the power to make sure the purpose is fulfilled.
The SON (at least the2 year old son), forgives and forgets.
The SON is flawless in the Father’s righteousness.
The SON is pure.
The SON is KING according to His Father’s will.
“So with differences and opinions aside, because I have taken
care of that, Just be MY SON,” says ABBA FATHER.
