"EXCUSE ME, IS THIS YOU?"

Anna is a Vanuatu girl I met in Vanuatu on a mission project with CRUFIJI back in 2012.

Two years ago in a Tamavua bus, I happened to sit next to her. This girl was on her phone. 15 minutes in to the bus ride, this girl taps me on my hand, and says, "Excuse me, is this you?" My EYES went from her phone screen to her face to the phone screen and back at her. "wait what?" I was out of this world confused, scared maybe and just a little shocked. My MIND lol! thinking, what in the world? why is she showing me this? is she stalking me? is this a joke? 😂 
I admit, I also thought of going to a different seat, I mean I FREAKED! 

                     


She was showing me group photos of us in Vanuatu. It was around 9pm and I couldnt really catch her face, but I managed to ask for her name and thankfully I remembered the name. I realized she was a part of it too. My heart felt warmth. Hugged her a little and asked about what in the world she was doing in a Tamavua bus at 9pm. She mentioned studying at FSM and being involved with Student Life here. 


Last week after a spontaneous push/ invite to attend Voyagers Conference 2019, I saw her again. 7 years since we first met and she is leading people to Christ! I must say, this Anna I met last week at conference is NOT the same shy girl I met all those years ago. Can't help but say, man Jesus, You did THAT. THANK YOU - for all that (seeing her) did to my heart. 😭 


There were things shared this week that I didnt realize or never knew my heart needed to hear, again. Moving forward, feeling refreshed, encouraged and inspired all over again with a little bit of tears here and there. Thankful for Cru! My God is kind. There truly is nothing more rewarding than winning souls to Him - period. Praise be to Him. ♥

For some reason, I thought I needed to be out of the woods of this process to be able to tell the story. At least a proper one where my emotions are not in the way. Heartbreak

Imagine a girl growing up in a safe little good Christian home. Key words: safe, good and CHRISTIAN.  I start here because when the environment in your development stages in life is safe, good and Christian, your views and ideas about life is very limited. Limited to only good things. It's not bad and I'm not ungrateful but I say limited because I had no idea how to cope when bad things happened to me because it was a foreign concept and that it was even possible to happen to me in the first place. God was my protector I was taught and I should be immune to bad things?  I look back and see trauma happened one after the other for me in my 20s and now 30s that I guess is where my safety net comes in.
