Listen. 🗣
I've been spending the nights with Nau (my grandmother). Its been comforting and kind of God.
She's partially deaf so communicating has been different that we have to be loud enough for her to hear us.
So sometimes she cant hear us being around and she gets a shock when she sees us suddenly like we've been there with her for a while. One "Sa!" usually comes flying at us quickly followed with laughter and then all is well in the land!
It got me thinking of how important the sense of hearing is that it affects where we look or how we press on to the next thing.
Nau doesn't look our direction when she's busy because she cant hear us being there with her and its enlightened me with some truths:
📌Sometimes we're not looking because we're not listening.
📌Sometimes we dont have direction because we're not listening.
📌Sometimes we get a shock when our paths take a sudden turn because we're not listening. 🥺
I've had to learn some of these the hardest ways. But it has always served me well to know that theres always His voice with me speaking to me through it all. I just had to listen.
Listening enhances the (our) vision. When there is vision, there is purpose & direction for our next thing.
I type this while the telly is telling the world about the current global economic crisis and the strategies the world leaders are challenged to take. I work in the private sector and it's so easy to get drifted in to the "realities" of the global economic climate.
The society and era we're living in is or will be demanding alot out of us. I pray we remember the voice of God. I hope we remember it above all the headlines, and "facts" about this world and its worries. And I pray we gather the strength to really only Listen to this voice and remain in it. I promise it'll only serve you (us) GOOD. 😏 Amen.
Love,
D
