There Is Only One Thing

There is only one thing.
He sent them out to preach about the Kingdom and heal the sick
He talked of rejection, humiliation and pride
He challenged the laws, the leaders, their strife
He taught them to pray
He warned them of being easily swayed

But there is only one thing He says
Really there is only one thing He says it all comes down to
Seeking His Kingdom, doing His Father's will
which will always stand true
Nothing more. Nothing less. 

You want to come with your philosophies and theories
Your experience of what He did for you in the past
And what you think you know of Him
No, no, no my friend
You come to God as you are.
No thinking, no status, no religion, no. Nothing
See He doesn't want your ideas about this life as if He needed it
He is LIFE Himself
He. Just. Wants. You. Period.  

I do not speak (write) because I fully understand
I speak because the bit of the puzzle I do understand, causes me to realize how small I am, 
how small I should be, in awe of this Great God!
I speak because He confirms to my heart when He spoke to Martha,
"There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her." 
I speak because through Jeremiah He said, "You have seen well for I am ready to perform my word." 

So come! Come beloved.
Let go of all those worries.
Let Him take you to another level
Let Him teach you more about Himself
Let Him soften our hearts to see and I mean really see what He did on the cross for us 
Let Him reveal to you more of Him so you can know who YOU are and all you are enabled to do through Him. 

O His great and marvelous plans! 
Who can compare?
He rules above the heavens, yet care to dwell amongst mere mortals
The earth rejoices as He satisfies its thirst
The world submits when He causes the heavens to quake with lightning and thunder
and the seas to roar
His people stand in fear and awe of Him 
Simply because when we really see things as it should be,
When we really see things as the heavens do, 
When we really see things as the mighty angels do,
Our hearts must proclaim,
No wonder! No wonder the heavenly beings WORSHIP Him day and night!
Because HE IS HOLY. HE IS WORTHY. HE IS MIGHTY.

So friends I won't tell you anymore anything about me
I won't even tell you what He's doing for me
Nor will tell you what you ought to do
But I will tell you of who He is
Oh I will tell you of who He is!
For who He is, is what He's done for me
Who He is, is all I ever need
Who He is, is where you'll need to begin
Who He is, keeps me from giving in to sin
Who He is, gives me confidence to succeed.
He is the Way, the Truth and the Life
who makes nonsense all our strife
He is the Beginning and the End
The Everlasting Father, the Great I Am
He rules over all, everything under His control
He is THE best friend I have, when I am at wits end
His understanding is like no other
He is Grace shown to one another 
The love of our Heavenly Father
Grooming us to become like no other.
Bless the Holy Name of our Father
Who allows us to suffer,
Only to restore us to something even higher.
For He is who He is
The Lord of Heaven's Armies
Undefeated in all His splendor
to Him be the Glory and Honor! 

Amen.

Doing It Anyway

For some reason, I thought I needed to be out of the woods of this process to be able to tell the story. At least a proper one where my emotions are not in the way. The danger of doing it anyway is you feeling the rawness of the rage, the hurt, the heartbreak, the bitterness.  But I want to stay alive and telling the story helps me do that. Not for likes and follows and shares, but to simply stay alive.  Cue tears.  There's this misconception among Christians sometimes that nothing bad happens to us if we believe in Jesus. Heartbreak

Imagine a girl growing up in a safe little good Christian home. Key words: safe, good and CHRISTIAN.  I start here because when the environment in your development stages in life is safe, good and Christian, your views and ideas about life is very limited. Limited to only good things. It's not bad and I'm not ungrateful but I say limited because I had no idea how to cope when bad things happened to me because it was a foreign concept and that it was even possible to happen to me in the first place. God was my protector I was taught and I should be immune to bad things?  I look back and see trauma happened one after the other for me in my 20s and now 30s that I guess is where my safety net comes in. My safety net being how I was raised as default - prayer, Bible and family with phrases like, "just pray about it!"   Great stuff but does not negate the fact that I was raised to believe that God is good all the time and for a kid that was raised in that environment, unco...
