VINA'A !

                                              SLR // TATA SITI

For what it's worth, you stood because you believed it can be done; you believed it was worth your every breath no matter the cost; you believed there is more when everyone else had lost hope, you gave some hope again. The way people came together this past few weeks, in reverence for the God of our fathers, and to your favor for a court case, was heart felt for Fijians all over the world.
People who dont even know you, cried for you. For us - our people.

I recall an encounter I had with Tutu TuKoli (SLR's late father) where he shared with me a verse from,
ROMA 4:17
"me vaka sa volai, Au sa qisi iko mo tamadra na veivanua e vuqa,e na matana sa vakabauta ko koya, io, na Kalou, o koya sa vakabulai ira tale na mate, a sa kaciva na veika sa segai me vaka era sa tu"

In his words, if I try and recall were, "edatou a sega ni dodonu me bula; tu'uni ni tou sa kawaboko. Ia a Kalou ga e rawa me 'aciva a ka sa sega, me tu..."
He definitely said more than that but thats all I could gather from it.

They said, the Rabukas weren't supposed to make it at all.

Because of you, we've seen that and more;  that it is possible to prove that all wrong. The only other time I for one, have seen people gather like that was for a national event or maybe a rugby win. Not for celebrating one person. For what may have seem like unfair treatment by FICAC or whoever responsible, thank you for braving the odds, reminding us to respect authority. For owning up to what millenials call disappointment and generally imperfection in your earlier political stances, thank you. From seeking forgiveness to punctuality, the world has learnt so much.

Vina'a a vosota. Vina'a a tu. Vina'a na i varaita'i vina'a.

They say behind a strong man is a stronger woman. Much gratitude as well goes out to a wife that has stood by through ALL odds - Nana Sulu, you inspire!

"Me bula ga ko Viti, ka me toro ga ki liu."

Sincerely,
Di Lo.
