Love Wins!
Tutu & Nau // The Grands ❤
Life is slowly deteriorating for them physically and some days mentally. We encountered some unimaginable seasons. But I am so. so grateful. For them. My other set of first best friends. I can't believe I have the blessing of still having them alive. Today I appreciate them. Trusting that God is weaving all things beautiful in the process.
If there's anything I'm learning from them, it is that brutal as circumstances may be, God is worth counting on; forgiveness is worth choosing; love always wins. Always.
We celebrated Tutu's 87th a month ago. There were lots of tears. He was always the man of the show. This time, he sat there almost oblivious that we all gathered to celebrate him. Senile. Weak. Eyes closed. We missed him, even though he was/ is still here.
At least he's still here.
Some moments he caught on, recognizing a few and then zoned off again, But he's still here - alive and breathing.
I think the thing that hit me the most about this whole situation is my Nau. The way she loves him. The way she holds him. The way she feeds him. The way she cares for him...
"Till death do them part. " I heard.
What a crazy line/ ride! Here I am recently celebrating union of friends getting married and then watching my grandparents on the other end like, whoa. My whole life flashed before my eyes and man! Thats a besutiful crazy level of commitment. Dont know how I'd handle THAT. I love it though. No argument there. Love is beautiful. God is beautiful.
I have asked, "Do you feel like love is (ever) wasted?.. Is it worth it?"
Sometimes In the moment, it may feel like it, but No. I dont think love is ever wasted. Ultimately Even if not reciprocated, love harvests the better. Hurtful as that uncertainty may be, Love is not humanly limited. It will always come right back around reaping shouts of praise and songs of grace, Where the only exception really is just, PRESENCE. Presence of God, presence of the lover... Even if not exactly in the manner we expect. However things turn out, love wins.
Is it worth it? Absolutely!
Is it worth it? Absolutely!
In the meantime, make memories, cherish the moments. God is worth counting on. ❤
