It is summer! And it is BEAUTIFUL! The taste of mangoes this past few days has me lingering on Thankfulness.  It is soooo sweet and beautiful that there has to be a God that makes it all THAT good! My heart explodes at the taste of it. 

I stand on the side of this L - shaped living room and look out to one end where the breeze makes the clothes on the line fly like its about to touch the sky and then to the other end where the branches of mango trees in the front yard sway to the music of nature.  A bliss. I can't help but give thanks! I am brought to the moment where I realize that there is always so much to be thankful for.  Thankful for life; thankful for friendships; thankful for family; thankful for the glorious taste of mangoes; thankful for the breeze that makes my hair feel like its about to fall off; thankful for the heat of the beautiful sunshine; thankful for moments like now that will never come back. 

So I'll just stay in these moments and soak it all in - HOME.

........... I can almost feel the sea touching my feet and the sound of the waves crashing on our humble seawall in the village - simplicity at its best, where nothing in all of this crazy world can come near.  Some may refer to it as a beautiful distraction but to me its more than just a distraction. It is GOD. It is LIFE. and life in all its fullness!!! where no worry or pain or expectation can reach but only the Greatness of GOD can provide. 

In the bliss of it all my soul, heart and mind sings,
 
MY GOD! HOW GREAT. THOU ART.

Doing It Anyway

For some reason, I thought I needed to be out of the woods of this process to be able to tell the story. At least a proper one where my emotions are not in the way. The danger of doing it anyway is you feeling the rawness of the rage, the hurt, the heartbreak, the bitterness.  But I want to stay alive and telling the story helps me do that. Heartbreak

Imagine a girl growing up in a safe little good Christian home. Key words: safe, good and CHRISTIAN.  I start here because when the environment in your development stages in life is safe, good and Christian, your views and ideas about life is very limited. Limited to only good things. It's not bad and I'm not ungrateful but I say limited because I had no idea how to cope when bad things happened to me because it was a foreign concept and that it was even possible to happen to me in the first place. God was my protector I was taught and I should be immune to bad things?  I look back and see trauma happened one after the other for me in my 20s and now 30s that I guess is where my safety net comes in.
