How Are We Living?

Recently the Lord placed in my heart the grandeur of raising children.  It dissected my soul and spirit and has me bawling for days.

A few weeks ago a 20 year old boy was buried after being found dead outside a night club in Suva. At 20 years of age this boy has been a member of street gangs, robbed homes for fun - no joke! (and 75% of the homes in his childhood neighborhood) and thus has been in and out of jail.... and only God knows what other crimes.
His death spoke volumes to my mother. All the stories told about him at his funeral were about him being mistreated and pushed aside, passed from one home to another and the likes.  My mom was one who branded him a criminal and didnt want my brothers to have anything to do with him. (Oh we're related and used to live 3 houses away from each other.)
The stories at the funeral ached my mother's heart in realizing the kind of believer she had been in his life. and not only her. 90% of believers out there live like this.  (ok maybe not 90%...........................99% ???).
Seriously though.  How are we living our "believing-in-God" or "followers-of Christ" life???

Maybe its beyond us to reach out to every single homeless or abandoned person.... but it got me thinking, What am I doing, like really doing with my life? I dont think I'll be done figuring my life out before I go out and make a difference..so i might as well do something.. right?

My point in sharing this story is something that the Rev. mentioned at the funeral, that, this boy's shortcomings had very little to do with himself.  Every single one of those who crossed paths with him, esp when he was very young and just absorbing life as it comes, were responsible for him.

This story came about at just when I came across a text from the Bible about one of the most detestable sins mentioned in the Old Testament -  the act of sacrificing children to idols.  yes some God-bless-their-souls human beings out there still do this but in a more subtle manner ALOT  of us do this in so many ways.  HOW? Whenever we are not giving them (children) to the Lord, directing them to truth, we commit this dangerous sin of giving them over to darkness.  [Ponder on this for a bit.]
Darkness is anything we turn to instead of the Lord God Almighty.  In much more simple terms, giving them over to education and the money system or anything related "for a better life" (or how most households say it in Fijian, "me rawa ni rawati koya kina" ) is a deadly concept to go by.
This life, Their lives, OUR LIVES was/ is created by God and only in Him will we have a "better life".  I mean, He IS life!

We weren't created to work and earn a living. You were created to live in God's image, manifesting His glory here on earth.  Dont quit school or work right away because of this but live only to execute what you hear from the King, your Creator.

Alot of times we ask for alot of things to be a part of our inheritance and meanwhile, the God creator of the universe counts you as His inheritance!

Who are you living for?

I recall a testimony from a woman over the radio several years ago, she said, "Splash the living water on somebody today!" You give them Jesus (Way, Truth and Life), you give them life.  Alot of us may be living but don't even know the life.

Share the truth with someone maybe? You are responsible for whoever comes into your life. Him and her.  Esp the little ones.

Safe Christians. There's nothing safe about our walk with God but it is good.  Always good.
