EBENEZER 👑

It was a Sunday evening 2017. He came and shared with me some things that were on his heart about the nation, the family and Ebenezer. 

A little bit of context (1 Samuel 7): the Philistines had arrived to attack Israel. The Lord spoke with thunder and the Philistines were thrown into confusion. The Israelites were able to defeat the Philistines all along the way between two towns. Samuel took a large stone and placed it between the two towns and named it Ebenezer meaning "stone of help" for he said, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." 

I didnt know what the future held but I held on to that word, from my father with all of me. Years later today, it wasnt all roses and butterflies along the way but I'm still seeing this help come through over and over and over again and trusting that it will continue to do so till we meet him again.

📌 We may feel like we're stuck between one town (step) and the next. 
Key: The Lord came to their aid as Samuel was sacrificing. What do you need to sacrifice (give) today? 
Hint: Start with your heart. 

📌The Lord spoke and the enemy was in confusion. 
- Stick with God and He will confuse the enemy. 
- When the Lord acts FOR you! (Some) people are gonna be confusion 😳 

📌Samuel put a stone between the towns naming it Ebenezer in remembrance of what the Lord has done for them. Sometimes the old testament just has these sweet nuggets of tangible acts of praise & thankfulness and it just makes me 😭 Remembrance is one of the purest ways of worship. 

This past week for our family this tangible reminder of God's faithfulness has been through a new born. 
He is the reminder that God is for us;
A voice that keeps us listening;
A gift that keeps on giving. 

Thus far the Lord has helped us.

For some reason, I thought I needed to be out of the woods of this process to be able to tell the story. At least a proper one where my emotions are not in the way. Heartbreak

Imagine a girl growing up in a safe little good Christian home. Key words: safe, good and CHRISTIAN.  I start here because when the environment in your development stages in life is safe, good and Christian, your views and ideas about life is very limited. Limited to only good things. It's not bad and I'm not ungrateful but I say limited because I had no idea how to cope when bad things happened to me because it was a foreign concept and that it was even possible to happen to me in the first place. God was my protector I was taught and I should be immune to bad things?  I look back and see trauma happened one after the other for me in my 20s and now 30s that I guess is where my safety net comes in.
