A Letter To My Mother 💕
I don't know what may have been going on in your head on that day you said "I Do" but I know without a doubt you said it - if anything, with or without anyone else standing with you with it, I know you said it with faith.
At 26, much older than when you were when you got married,
I can imagine how scary that must have been for you.
I'm sorry I misjudged you.
I put this tag on you as a mother, as my mother, you should just know how to handle life because you are the 'mother' - not a human being, not a Sunday school teacher, not a lay preacher, just a mother.
Mothers just know. Mothers always know. True to a certain extent but I think in that,
I didn't see you mothers as human beings - people who hurt, and cry, and fail and sometimes (if not often) misunderstood or overlooked.
The sleepless nights not only on infant stages but throughout all our lives really, wherever we trod.
Thank you for saying yes over and over and over and over again. Thank you for praying through and through even when nothing, literally nothing seems to be going the way you dreamt or wanted.
Thank you for staying; for never leaving.
Thank you for providing when all else has run out.
I wanted a library book.. Thank you for telling me to read my Bible and write down what I learn. Today it is my life - line.
Thank you for introducing me to the greatest relationship in this life and the next.
Thank you for introducing us to our Savior, the one that's kept me safe wherever I've been, wherever I go.
Thank you for introducing me to true love - one that lays their life down for another.
Thank you for laying yours down for ours.
Only heaven really knows the prayers and tears you've shed for us.
Only heaven has the ultimate prize for it.
I can only hope my little words do a little justice on this side of the world though I know it hardly does.
Thank you for being our mother.
You held on when no one was cheering you on.
This is so beautiful 💕
