Light in the Darkest Hour // Post TC Winston thoughts

there are no words enough to fully describe the heart ache amongst Fijians today. recollecting and rebuilding since Cyclone Winston hit us a week ago has been nothing less than painful.   thousands left homeless and 42 lives lost right now and many more injured as a result of this devastating disaster.  its so easy to point fingers and say "i told you so" or "if onlys" but at the end of the day the devastation brought by the recent storm can only and should only be reciprocated with love.

there sure has been alot of ignorance and disobedience on the part of those who are aware of the God who lives but He does say that He never permits a disaster willingly. at the same time it may also be hard to trust His love in the midst of suffering but good always directly follow a fall.  in thinking about those deeply affected by Winston I was reminded that I serve and know one who is the light. and the light that never goes out for that matter.

i refuse to condone sin nor have an excuse for it because there really isnt any, but LOVE is the essence of living. Love covers all.always.  Its mind blowing to ponder on this truth while knowing and having had witnessed how chaotic life was before the storm - i mean it would be easier to say that our ignorance was calling for it (which a good part of me agrees) but this week love has been all He whispers.  Love is the only power i believe that is strong enough to see us through and through.

its hard to realize that we're only in to the second month of the year and some if not most plans for the year are being reconsidered due to this natural disaster.

This past few days has been one of hearing stories of all sorts from witnesses, from listeners, from believers and non-believers alike. it has been mostly sad and disheartening, but stories that must remind us that there is a God who lives and He is serious about us, AND longs that this seriousness or passionate love be reciprocated on the same level.

Its not a call to religion as the system puts it, but is a humble and gentle call to a beautiful life- giving relationship of all time! Its not a call to a set of rules but to a set of lifestyle that impacts this world in glorious ways.  Its so much more than just dos and don'ts.Its love in its purest, fullest form calling us to know Him who significantly knows all and holds all things together.

And all else submits when He decides to call the winds and waters, nothing can stand His way! This same power calls you and me to choose Him and trust him wholly and calmly.
Its not the end of the world unless He says so.

He is Light.  And in this dark times choose him.
