Choosing To Be Different
Happy
New Year!!!
So I
realize that what Im about to write about probably does not match the exciting
greeting but I just really feel like writing about this today. And maybe I will be feeling lame about choices tomorrow but today I am choosing to write this! This is
something that has been on my heart for the past month or so.
Im
tired. Im tired of seeing people go to
church because the “lali” is beating, calling the congregation together. Im
tired of seeing youths standing around the “lali” or outside the church during
the service but are the first ones seated around the “tanoa” after the service. Im tired of seeing the congregation fill up
the church halls for tea and cakes, merry making with the very people they hold
a grudge against. Im tired of seeing
things being done because that's the way its always done – tradition. Im tired
of seeing people serve the ‘church’ and not the One who caused the church to
come to be. Im tired of hearing awesome
sermons at church year in and year out but change has been no more than 2%. Im tired of hearing people glorify someone or
something that is hardly due them. Im
tired of seeing smoking and grogging slowly eat the souls, body, mind and
spirit of those who claim to know the Bible cover to cover or those who claim
to know what Christianity is all about.
Im tired of seeing people claim life unfolds to something predictable. Im
tired of seeing the lack of abundance that we are entitled to according to John
10:10 – lack of abundance in everything; not so much the wealth. Im talking
lack of values, lack of the fruit of the Spirit and lack of fear of God. Im tired of seeing the enemy’s attractive and
‘okay’ looking schemes, become favourable to choose by the second. Im tired of seeing second bests being
approved just because hopes for the best or rather God’s best seem impossible
and waiting seems like forever. Im tired
of the usual standard procedure overlooking revelations and visions from the
Lord. Im tired of hurts, failures and
regrets getting the best of us.
I
know it is a fallen world beloved and most if not some of these things are
inevitable BUT I know and strongly believe that one person can make a
difference; that I can make a difference; that YOU can make a difference. YOU can choose to rise above. YOU can choose to seek God relentlessly for
the best. You can choose Jesus to be the center of the status quo of this day
and age inspiring every decision of His church, His body. You can choose to receive His salvation. You
can choose to believe all His faithful promises; that you are not condemned;
you are not a failure; you are not what the world may define you to be. You. Are.
More. You are HIS.
I
have seen and experienced the joys and divine significance of being on fire for
God and being surrounded by others on that same level…. And MAN! I am persistently
longing to see its fullness in the church today. Lord help me wait. It wont come easy. It
means unlocking supernatural doors in heaven to shower us with His blessing and
Presence which calls for nothing less than unceasing prayers and fasting. So help us Lord.

time for spiritual awakening is now, and we can be the ones who will ignite it.”
